Member Responsibilities
Purpose of Provider Services Advisory Board
To foster communication and cooperation among providers of care with the goal of improving access to care for the medically underserved in Springfield Greene County and throughout the surrounding
region. The Provider Services Advisory Board is made up of experts in health and human services,
primary care and specialty care that will collaborate with area providers and the Health Commission to provide significant input on the strategic priorities related to
the delivery of health care.
To uphold the mission of the Health Commission, members of the
Provider Services Advisory Board are asked to fulfill the following tasks.
Responsibilities
- Members shall attend all meetings and follow Attendance Policy of the
Health Commission (SGCRHC). The Provider Services Advisory Board (PSAB) meets
quarterly, four (4) times a year. When unable to attend, advance notice is required as a
quorum is mandatory for all Advisory Board votes and actions.
- Members shall listen actively to the ideas and opinions expressed by peer members, by the
Chairs of each Advisory Committee and by all members of the community. Members should
engage in constructive discussion and be open to alternative solutions and points of view.
- Members shall review and respond to all input received by the community at large and by any
active Advisory Committee seeking approval or feedback to proceed with their proposal with the
Board of Directors.
- Members shall fairly represent all constituencies, acknowledging and drawing upon the diversity
of opinions and outlooks represented.
- Members shall inform constituencies and other community members about the consensus building
process and provide updates on the progress of discussions if and only if the said updates are
first approved by either the Executive Committee or the Executive Director. Significant comments
and questions expressed by constituencies to the PSAB will be communicated to the Board of
Directors at their next regular meeting.
- Members shall be committed to working toward consensus and cooperate with this process to
the fullest extent possible. A successful conclusion depends on a good faith effort from
all participants.
