Community Advisory Board
Member Responsibilities
Purpose of Community Advisory Board
To provide a vehicle for effective community input to the Health Commission's governing body regarding improving access to care for the medically under-served in Springfield Greene County and throughout the surrounding region.
To uphold the mission of the Health Commission, members of the Community Advisory Board are asked to fulfill the following tasks.
Responsibilities
- Members shall attend all meetings and follow Attendance Policy of the Health Commission. The Community Advisory Board (CAB) meets quarterly, four (4) times a year. When unable to attend, advance notice is required as a quorum is mandatory for all Advisory Board votes and actions.
- Members shall listen actively to the ideas and opinions expressed by peer members, by the Chairs of each Advisory Committee and by all members of the community. Members should engage in constructive discussion and be open to alternative solutions and points of view.
- Members shall review and respond to all input received by the community at large and by any active Advisory Committee seeking approval or feedback to proceed with their proposal with the Board of Directors.
- Members shall fairly represent all constituencies, acknowledging and drawing upon the diversity of opinions and outlooks represented.
- Members shall inform constituencies and other community members about the consensus building process and provide updates on the progress of discussions if and only if the said updates are first approved by either the Executive Committee or the Executive Director. Significant comments and questions expressed by constituencies to the CAB will be
communicated to the Board of Directors at their next regular meeting.
- Members shall be committed to working toward consensus and cooperate with this process to
the fullest extent possible. A successful conclusion depends on a good faith effort from
all participants.
